Celebrities like George Clooney and Cameron Diaz, are among many stars that prefer the freedom of living the single life and tell us why the like being single.
Although the tabloids are full of news about the latest romance and marriage among “the stars” there are a few noteworthy celebrities who claim they prefer to live their lives without the need for marriage, and for some, not even for monogamy.
Cameron Diaz:“Who would want to be with the same person for 80 years? Why not break it up a bit? Have someone for 5 years and another person for another 5 years. Love might last forever, but you don’t always live with the person you love forever.”
George Clooney:“People always go, ‘Aren’t you afraid of being alone or dying alone?’ And I just go, ‘I’ve also been in relationships where I’ve been shockingly alone.’ I don’t agree with the idea that you have to have that or it’s a failed life.”
Natalie Portman:“I’m into monogamy. But I’m not really into marriage. I sort of hate the legal aspect of it.”
Kate Hudson:“I don’t believe monogamy is realistic. If you focus your attention on that, then you’re always wondering if your husband or men are out there cheating on you. I just don’t want to know. As long as things are good in our house, just please, don’t get caught.”
Rod Stewart:“Instead of getting married again, I’m going to find a woman I don’t like and just give her a house.”
Scarlett Johansson:“I don’t think it’s a natural instinct for human beings. Monogamy can be hard work for some people. I don’t think it applies to everybody, and I don’t think a lot of people can do it.”
Woody Allen:”The only time my wife and I had a simultaneous orgasm was when the judge signed the divorce papers.”
Mae West:”Marriage is a great institution, but I’m not ready for an institution yet.”
