Join us on Saturday, September 23 at 10 a.m. for a unique and captivating “living history” tour of the Angelus Rosedale Cemetery, one of the oldest cemeteries in Los Angeles and the first cemetery in the city to be open to all races, faiths and creeds — and the permanent resting place for some of the city’s most fascinating historical figures.
Produced by the West Adams Heritage Association and now in its 27th year, the tour features selected interred who will tell you their stories graveside, thanks to actors who portray them in period appropriate costumes. This year’s theme is “The Artist’s Way” and will showcase poets, painters, songwriters, dancers, authors, singers and musicians, photographers, architects and other creative souls who are among the cemetery’s residents.
Following the tour and keeping with the historical theme, we’ll have lunch at landmark Greek restaurant, Papa Cristo’s. Serving the community for 60 years, the menu features a big array of Greek favorites and the market provides goodies like feta cheese, homemade baklava and imported olives.
Although all of the tours depart from 9 a.m. until noon, if you’d like to be part of the SingularCity group tour, you must purchase your ticket from SingularCity. SingularCity member tickets are $24 as long as they are purchased by September 12. You don’t have to be a SingularCity member to be part of our tour group, but you will still need to purchase your ticket from SingularCity at the regular price of $30.
After September 12, all tickets are $35. Tickets may be available for purchase at the door after 11 a.m. on the day of the event for $40.
