Discover the joys of road tripping this May with a scenic highway adventure through the stunning state of Utah that includes stops to see each of its Mighty 5 national parks.
We’ll meet in Las Vegas and board a comfy passenger van that will be our ride for our road trip adventure. We’ll stay in moderately priced hotels and you pay for your own meals and lodging.
Here’s the itinerary in broad strokes (contact us for more details):
Saturday, May 6: We depart from Las Vegas around 2 p.m. It won’t take long before we’ll realize we’ve left city life far behind us. We’ll spend our first night in Kanab, Utah — a little town whose claim to fame was being the backdrop for countless Hollywood Westerns.
Sunday, May 7: After breakfast, we’ll tour the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary just 5 miles north of Kanab. This state-of-the-art facility provides care for 1,700 companion animals — primarily dogs and cats awaiting their forever home. Then on to Zion National Park, just 20 minutes away, where we’ll check into our hotel, go exploring, have dinner together and then explore more the next morning.
Monday, May 8: All aboard for a 2-hour drive to Bryce Canyon National Park where we’ll spend the night and marvel at one of the world’s most amazing geological treasures, the hoodoos — amazing spirals of rock that look as if they were carved by giants.
Tuesday, May 9: Today we head to Capitol Reef National Park, first stopping in for lunch at Hell’s Backbone Grill, a Zagat treasure famed for its farm-to-table menu and organic ingredients and then passing through the pristine Dixie National Forest before arriving at our destination.
Wednesday May 10 – Thursday, May 11: Today we head to Moab, first stopping to visit the “goblins” at Goblin Valley State Park and then on to Moab where we’ll spend two nights so we can visit both Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park, the last two on our list of Utah’s Mighty 5 National Parks.
Friday, May 12: Time to head back to Vegas – this time taking the Interstate, a 6.5-hour drive that will take us back to the big city life we so gratefully left behind during our scenic road trip through one of America’s most beautiful states.
Your SingularCity adventure will be complete once we arrive in Las Vegas, so please be sure to make plans for your return trip home or to spend the night (or longer) in Las Vegas.
