It was a spectacular spring day and Angelenos and green-minded Singulars turned out to help make the annual Heal the Bay Earth Day celebration a success. Saturday, April 18th, was Nothin’ But Sand beach clean up day next to the Santa Monica Pier.

The signup tent was a busy place.
Participants who rolled up their sleeves and dug their toes into the sand, filling bags with unwanted refuse, also got the perk of free admission to the Santa Monica Aquarium.

Inside the cool and mysterious dark interior of the Aquarium, various activities for children and adults, including starfish petting and interactive dioramas of sewage run off kept visitors enthralled.

Heal the Bay has grown significantly over the years and has been a beloved community leader and educator in the movement to treasure, maintain and improve our local natural resources.
