The Craft and Folk Museum, in the heart of Wilshire Boulevard’s museum row, was transformed into a brilliant and exotic destination for travelers to Singular magazine’s Passport to Adventure party on Saturday, May 2.
More than 400 “singular” guests were entertained with music from Calé, a Spanish-themed flamenco 4-piece band, and music and dance performances from Tahitian-styled Polynesian Paradise.
For the taste buds, guests sampled unusual and tasty offerings from Joans on Third, Les 3 Sens Catering, Jaipur Cuisine of India and pastry treats from Jamaica’s Cakes.
And to quench their thirst, guests sipped exotic cocktails made with POM Wonderful and Dry Soda; sampled delicious icy shots of Limoncello liquor chilled with Shivers Ice and sampled the red and white wines offered by Hirsch-Cielo Malibu Estate Vineyards. There was also a soothing offering of international organic teas offered by Naja Tea.
Besides all the fun in the museum courtyard, guests could wander throughout the museum’s art galleries and enjoy exhibits from Exene Cervenka, Gail Greenfield Randall, Matjames and Michael McMillen.
And if that wasn’t enough to do and see, a silent auction raising funds for L.A.’s TreePeople offered an eclectic and exciting mix of everything from a roundtrip Lear jet trip to Las Vegas, hotel rooms in Kauai, art work from “Shag,” and tickets to the Indianapolis 500 car race – just to name a few.
New friends were made, SingularCity acquaintances met face-to-face and the hottest “singulars” in the city enjoyed one of the best parties of the season.
