Join SingularCity at L.A’s coolest bookstore, Book Soup, where we’ll meet columnist/author Sara Eckel and hear a reading from her new book, “It’s Not You: 27 (Wrong) Reasons You’re Single” inspired by her viral New York Times column “Modern Love.”
In “It’s Not You,” Sara fires back at the inane things people say to singles, from “you’re too needy” to “you’re too independent.” Drawing from current sociological and psychological research, as well as ancient Buddhist wisdom, the book invites readers to stop picking apart their personalities and instead relax into who they really are—an imperfect being who is worthy of love.
It also offers snappy answers to the most annoying cocktail-party questions—from “Why are you single?” to “Have you tried internet dating?”
After the reading and book signing, we’ll walk over to State Social House at 8782 Sunset Blvd. to enjoy snacks and sips with Sara.
We suggest you valet park at State Social House for the evening. It’s just one block east of Book Soup.
