Join us for four nights in Miami, arriving September 6 and departing on Monday, September 10, 2018.

Join us September 6-10, 2018, for a long weekend of sun, fun, food and nightlife in Miami, Florida.

We have a special rate at an ocean-side hotel in the iconic and beautiful South Beach area of Miami. This is where you’ll find the Art Deco architecture, the ultra-hip clubs, colorful neon lights and the best people-watching in the city.

On our first night we’ll have dinner at the famous Palace, a totally over-the-top, gay bar bistro just a couple of blocks from our hotel is in the heart of South Beach. Afterwards we’ll do a walkabout to explore our colorful South Beach neighborhood afterdark. Yes we’re really here!

The next morning we’ll take a fabulous three-hour foodie tour through Little Havana where we’ll weave in and out of streets and enjoy classic Cuban bites including a Cuban sandwich, fried plantains, roast pork, and Cuban coffee at a family restaurant as our friendly guide tells us all about the wonders and mysteries of this unique Miami neighborhood.

Enjoy the afternoon on your own and get dressed up for a night of salsa at Mango’s. We start upstairs in the Mojito Room at 7:30 where we’ll have appetizers, cocktails and our salsa dance class.  Drinks are 50% off during the class time, and you get 10% off food for the rest of the night. After class, we can go downstairs to the main room to practice our new moves and enjoy the live bands and spectacular stage shows that last until 5 a.m. It’s the biggest dance party on Ocean Drive.

If you’re not sleeping in, join us the next morning at 10:30 for a 90-minute walking tour that provides an introduction to the Art Deco, Mediterranean Revival, and Miami Modern (MiMo) styles found within the Miami Beach Architectural Historic District. We’ll explore hotels, restaurants, and other commercial structures with a visit to a number of interiors.

That afternoon, we’ll take a “Miami Vice”-style speedboat tour with Thriller Miami through the beautiful waters of Biscayne Bay, Key Biscayne, where we’ll see “The Lighthouse” (Cape Florida State Park, the home of a historic lighthouse built in 1825, the oldest standing structure in Miami-Dade county) then slow down to give see the homes on stilts in famous Stiltsville within Biscayne National Park before heading back through the beautiful waters of Biscayne Bay along the Miami Skyline.

That night we’re off to explore the Miami Design District. The second Saturday (Sept 8) is a community-wide Art & Design night from 7-10 p.m. We will explore the galleries and shops, and eat dinner at Michaels Genuine Food and Drink. Located in the heart of the Miami Design District, it features an outdoor courtyard and serves locally sourced comfort food & inventive desserts.

On our last full day, we’ll explore Espanola Way, a charming Old World throwback in the heart of South Beach. Conceived as a “historic Spanish village in 1925, the two-block corridor was designed to resemble a romantic Mediterranean village in Spain or France. We’ll explore art galleries, shops and sample delectible bites along the way.

Spend the afternoon exploring on your own and prepare for our final dinner together at Gianni’s, located in the former mansion of Gianni Versace which has been converted into a luxury hotel. Cuisine is described as a delicious blend of Italian & Mediterranean.

There’s lots to do and see, but don’t worry, you can pick and choose what you want to do and there will also be time to relax on the sugar-white sand beaches that border turquoise ocean waters.

(The itinerary is subject to change.)
