Halloween came early this year when Singular magazine in association with social networking group EOW and upscale dating site Three Day Rule welcomed a huge crowd of Los Angeles singles to their Spooky Saturday Halloween bash held at the Sonoma Wine Garden on the top-floor dining deck at Santa Monica Place on Saturday, October 27.

It was the perfect venue for an indoor/outdoor event and thanks to the warm weather, even those dressed in scanty costumes had no problem staying toasty warm late into the night. The venue was packed early on, with tickets selling out the day before. If you were lucky enough to find a seat, the thought of further party hopping faded quickly as it became obvious this was one of the hottest Halloween parties in Los Angeles

A DJ kept the dance floor busy in one area, bartenders were mixing cocktails at breakneck speed and the outside decks, with views of the Santa Monica Pier, were packed with VIPs who opted for the deluxe tickets for the best views in the house. The entire restaurant was closed to the public to make way for the private, ticketed event.

Jeremy Danne, one of the organizers of the Facebook-based social networking group EOW (Every Other Wednesday) said he believes it was the Sonoma Wine Garden’s first Halloween event so figuring out how to stage such a large party required a lot of planning. In terms of getting the word out he said, “We had a team of folks that lassoed friends and pinged lists of hundreds of people to make sure there would be a vibrant, social crowd. We were really pleased to have 500 people who attended over the course of the night.”

A costume contest awarded prizes for the hottest, funniest and most posh costumes – a difficult choice given the abundance of extravagant outfits at the party. Costume contest prize sponsors included the Sonoma Wine Garden, Tikkun Holistic Spa, Westside Aesthetics and Reverse Charades.
