| Cheaters More Likely the Type to Fall in Love at First Sight |

 Survey conducted by U.K. matchmaking site Parship looks at attitudes about fidelity between men, women and age groups.  Men who believe that it’s possible to fall in love “at first sight” are three times more likely to cheat on their partner says a new survey completed by U.K. dating website Parship. Parship questioned 5,000 single men and women about fidelity as well as other aspects of their romantic relationships. The results showed that it takes most men (75 percent) and most women (80 percent) at least five dates over several weeks to determine if they want to get serious. One in five said they had been unfaithful in a previous relationship, although nine in 10 said they expected fidelity from their next partner. Unfaithful men averaged 3.4 affairs compared to women who averaged 1.2. The survey also found that 42 percent of men who believed in love at first site, later cheated — and that baby boomers cheat more frequently than those under the age of 30. Nafsika Thalassis of Parship said, “This survey indicates that there is a close relationship between infidelity and impulsiveness. Men who consider themselves ‘in love’ within minutes of meeting someone are likely to fall in love rather frequently. It is also likely that such men interpret attraction and love as more or less the same thing.” One third of those questioned said they could never forgive an affair but 22 per cent of men and six per cent of women said they might overlook a one-time fling. |
