I can't login, or I forgot my username or password.
If you can't login, check to make sure that your "caps lock" key is off. Your username and password are CaSe SeNsItIvE. If you still cannot login, you can request to reset your password or contact us.
How can I delete my account?
If you are aboslutely sure that you want to delete your account, you can do so here. Please note that your account will be permanently deleted and irrecoverable!
How can I update my profile?
To update your profile, navigate to My Profile > Edit Profile Information. From here you can change your Personal Information, About Me and change or upload a profile photo.
How can I update my email address?
You canupdate your email address in the Account Settings page. In the menu choose MySettings > Account Settings.
How can I report an error or other problem with the site?

How can I deal with someone that is bothering me?
If someone is bothering or harassing you, blocking them isusually the best solution. Visit the Account Settings page to add names to the blocklist. In the menu choose My Settings > Account Settings and click on the Privacy tab. If someone continues to harass you despite your efforts, you can report them here
How can I report spam or other inappropriate content?
You can report spam, pornography, or any other inappropriate content here
, or by clicking the "Report" link on the page containing the content you wish to report.
Is my information kept private?
Absolutely. We do not share any personally identifying information about you to any third party.
How can I make my profile private?
You can make your profile private by going to My Settings > Privacy Options and choosing the level of privacy you want under "Profile Privacy".
How can I block users from contacting me?
You can block people by adding their username to your blocked users list. Visit the Account Settings page by going to My Settings > Account Settings.
I only want friends to be able to comment on my profile.
You can select who can comment on the"comment wall" of your profile. Select the appropriate box on the "Comments Privacy" section of My Settings > Privacy Options.
How do I delete comments on my profile wall?
When you want to delete comments on your own profile click on My Profile in the menu then select the Comments tab. At the bottom right of each comment there is a "delete" link. Click that link to delete that comment.
How can I hide "recent activity"?
Go to My Settings > Privacy Options. Under Recent Activity Privacy you can choose which activities you want to show in the Recent Activities list.
How will I know when I receive a message?
You will receive an email notification that you have a new message on the SingularCity site. Also, when you are logged into the site, a blue message bubble will appear at the upper left informing you of any new updates including messages, comments and friend requests.
What if I don't want an email sent when I get a new message?
To turn off Email Message Notifications go to My Settings > Account Settings and under Email Notifications you can choose which actions you would like to receive an email for.
CREATE ALBUMS AND LOAD PHOTOS
How do I add photos to an existing album?
Click on My Apps > My Photos. In the album you would like to add photos to click on the Edit Album link. Then click the "Add New Photo" link. On the next page you will upload your new photo to add to the album. On the Upload Photos page, click on "Add Files". In the dialog box that pops up, navigate to the photo on your computer that you would like to upload. Make sure your photo meets the required file size of no more than 400KB and is either a .jpg, .gif or .png file. When you have chosen your photo click on OK or Select. Then click "Upload Selected Files" and your photo will be uploaded and added to the photo album.
Name your photos.
After you load your photos, click on "Back to Photos".Enter titles and captions (captions are your description of the photo) here. Click on "save changes" on the bottom of the page.
Get notified when someone posts a comment or tags one of your photos.
In My Settings > Account Settings > Email Notifications place a checkmark in the box next to "When I receive a new photocomment" or "When I am tagged in a photo".
How to join a group.
You can start by browsing through groups that might interest you by clicking on "Groups" in the top navigation bar. You'll see a listing of the Most Popular Groups, or you can change that list to "Recently Created" by choosing that option under "Show" at the left side of the page. You can also browse through a categorized listing of groups by clicking on a category on the left side of the page.When you find a group you would like to join, click on that group's title and you will be taken to that group's page. On the left side, under the group's photo is the "Join this Group" link. Click on that link and a popup window will appear where you will confirm that you wish to join the group. Click on "Join this Group" to join. Sometimes the group leader has elected to approve all new group members, if this is the case for this group you should receive an email that you have been approved to join the group.
How to accept pending group invitations.
If someone has sent you an invitation to join a group you will receive an email notification. You might also see the invitation in the blue updates message bubble at the upper left of the community pages when you are logged in.
How to create a group.
In the third navigation bar choose My Apps > My Groups. On this next page you will see a "Create New Group" link. Click that and now you are on the page to create your group. Name and describe your group. Choose your category and sub-category (you will get a drop-down menu). Select Group Settings. For "allow comments" and "allow discussion board" please select "Only Group Members". Go to the bottom of the page and click on "add group" to save your settings. On the next page, you will be asked to add a photo to describe your group. This is important. Load a photo for your group just as you do for profile photo. You need to have an appropriate photo on your computer's hard disk. Browse your computer's hard drive for an appropriate photo, click and upload. Please set your group so that only Group Members can comment. Select "Only Group Members" for "AllowComments" and "Allow Discussion Board".
How to invite Members to your group.
Now that you have a group, you will want to populate it. The first thing you need is group members. To make sure that other members see your group, why not invite them to join. Ideally, choose members that you think would be interested in your group.To invite new members, first choose My Apps > My Groups. On this page is the list of Groups that you belong to. If you are the leader of a Group you will see an "Edit Group" link. Click that link and on the next page, click the "Members" tab. In the Browse Members page click on "Invite New Members" to enter names of members you would like to invite to join your group.
How to create discussions in your group.
Any Group Member can start a Discussion Topic. Click on the "Discussions" tab and then click on "Start New Topic" link. Enter a Topic Subject and Your Message to begin a new discussion.
Subscribe to Groups
If you would like to receive email notifications whenever a comment, photo, or discussion topic is posted in a group, click the "Subscribe to Group" link on the left side. This is a good way to keep up with all the latest news and happenings for a group.
How do I change the photo that labels my group?
Go to My Apps > My Groups and click on "Edit Group". Click the "Group Details" tag and on this page you can find and upload a photo for your group.
How do I add Group Photos?
Once you are in the group page that you belong to, click on the "Photos" tab. Then click on the "Add New Photos" link at the right. If you do not see this link then the Group Leader has not allowed members to upload photos to the group.
What is a group leader?
When you create a group, you become the de facto Group Leader. You now have power and responsibility. Your responsibility is to make the group interesting for your Group Members. You can invite new members, start discussion topics, and plan events and activities for your group.
How to invite friends?
You can invite friends by clicking on a Member's photo and clicking on "Add to My Friends". This member will receive a notification that you would like to add him or her as a friend. If they accept the friendship request then you will receive a notice that the two of you are now friends, and they will appear in your My Friends list. A good way to make friends is by meeting other Members during Group discussions or Events.
SEARCHING BROWSING FOR MEMBERS
How do I search for other Members?
On the second navigation bar, the one where you see "Hello, your user name," click on the "Members" link and you will see a page of SingularCity members. Here you can search by criteria. For "name" you will be able to find the name that the member has publicly listed on his or her profile (this is not his or her "username").
Your username and password must only contain letters and numbers (A-Z, a-z, 0-9). Please do not use other characters and please do not leave any spaces. If you use any other charcters or use spaces in your username and/or password they will not be accepted. You can later change anything in your profile except your username.
using AOL's browser
Please use a recent version of Firefox, Safari or Internet Explorer (IE) browsers when connecting to SingularCity. SingularCity.com will also run on your iPhone Safari interface. However, SingularCity does not function properly on an AOL's browser. If you get a notification email to your AOL email, please be careful that it does not lead you to opening the website in your AOL browser. Just go directly to http://SingularCity.com to log in.
After registration, will I receive an email to verify my email address?
At the completion of your registration, we will send you an email to verify that you are indeed the owner of that email address. Please click on the link in the email or copy and paste it to your browser. This will take you to the log in page. If you do not receive an email, please check your spam folder. On the final page of your registration there is a place to click to request another verification email to be sent. If all that fails, please send an email to our Community Manager at email@example.com
Do I need a photo with my profile?
Having a photo on your profile is very important. If you absolutely do not want to show your face, you can use a symbol or illustration that represents what you do/who you are.
How do I upload a profile photo?
In the third navigation bar choose My Profile > Change Profile Photo. If you land on the Edit Profile page choose the "Photo" tab. Here is where you will choose a photo from your computer to upload to the site. You will need to have a photo of yourself ready before continuing. If you have a photo ready, click on the "Browse" button and in the dialog box that comes up, navigate to the photo you would like to use. When you have found your photo click Open or Select. When you return to the Edit Photo page click the "Upload" button and your new profile photo will appear under "Current Photo".
I'm having trouble uploading my Profile Photo, what should I do?
There could be many reasons why your photo is not uploading. First thing is if you are trying to upload a photo from your work computer, you may be behind a firewall or a proxy server that may be preventing you from doing so. You will have to talk to your network administrator to help you if this is the case. If this is not possible you will have to upload a photo from a different computer.There are also certain restrictions on what kind of photo you can upload. Your photo must be of one of these file types: .jpg, .gif or .png. If you do not see one of those extensions on your file, you might need to check what type of file it is. If you are using a PC right-click on the file and choose "Properties". In the popup window under the General tab you will see what type of file this is. If you are using a Mac, Control-click on the file, hold down the Control button on your keyboard and click on the file, and choose "Get Info". Next to "Kind" you will see what type of file your photo is. If it is not one of those listed previously you will either have to convert that photo to one of the required file types or choose another photo that is. There are also file size restrictions on a photo. It must be 400KB or less in size to be able to upload. To find out how big the photo is that you are trying to upload, on a PC right-click on the photo and choose "Properties". Under the General tab you will see how big the file is next to "Size". If you are using a Mac, Control-click on the photo, hold down the Control button on your keyboard and click on the file, and choose "Get Info". In the popup you will see the file size next to "Size". It must be 400KB or less to upload. In most cases you will not be able to upload photos directly from your digital camera, they will need to be reduced in size first.There have also been reported problems using the Safari browser when uploading photos. If you are using Safari, have met the photo type and size requirements, are not behind a firewall or proxy server, and still are having trouble uploading photos, you might have to use another browser such as Firefox to successfully upload your photo. If Safari is your only browser available you can contact the Community Manager atSingularCity and let her know the problems you are having. You should be able to say what browser you are using, what version browser you are using, and if you are on a Mac or PC and what version Operating System you have so that we can help you fix the problem.
Why does my profile photo look so narrow?
If you are using a very vertical photo it will show up as a rather narrow photo on the site. If you can crop it down so it has less height or perhaps choose another photo.
Why would I include a URL for my website or blog? How do I do it?
It significantly increases the richness of your profile to include a website URL that represents you. URL's you might use can be for your company or your personal website or blog. You can also include profiles you have created on other sites such as Yelp, IMDB, Zagat, Twitter or other social networks.
My URL does not click through.
When entering websites in the URL box on the About Me page of your profile, please be sure to include the "http://" prefix. (ex: http://www.yoursite.com). For urls in the MySpace or Facebook fields you DO NOT need to include the "http://" prefix. (ex: www.myspace.com/)
How do I find my Facebook URL?
To get your Facebook URL right click on the word "profile" or your name on the blue bar on your profile page on Facebook: you will get something like "http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=535324373&ref=profile". Remove"&ref=profile" from that URL. Remove "http://". Now copy and paste this address to your Singular profile in "About Me" -> "Facebook" field. Go back to profile, click on your Facebook link to test it to make sure it clicks to your Facebook profile page.
You can make your Facebook URL look pretty by extracting the 9 digit number from your Facebook URL

How do I change my email address?
You can change your email address in the Account Settings page. In the menu choose My Settings > Account Settings.
How do I RSVP for an event?
Click on "Events" on the top navigation bar to see a list of upcoming events. To RSVP to an event, click the event title to enter the events page. On the left side of the event page, under "My RSVP" choose whether you will be "Attending", "Maybe Attending" or "Not Attending". To RSVP to an event you must a member of SingularCity and be logged into the site.
