Brazilian “Carnaval” in Los Angeles

On Saturday, February 14, SingularCity convened at The Conga Room to celebrate the 15th Annual Brazilian Carnaval in Los Angeles.

On Saturday, February 14, Singular magazine partnered with Brazilian Nites Productions to bring SingularCity members and their friends the 15th Annual Brazilian Carnaval extravaganza at The Conga Room located at L.A. Live, home of downtown’s hottest entertainment attractions.

This authentic-style Brazilian Carnaval took place on the same day it happens in Brazil and was the closest you could get to the real deal without flying to Rio.

Singular had an exclusive VIP area where we could people watch and converse with our friends — when not out on the enormous floor dancing to the contagious beats of live Brazilian samba bands, joining in a participatory drum circle, floating away in a Carnaval parade or being mesmerized by the dazzling costumes of the show girls and samba dancers.

Brazilian Nites Productions has been successfully organizing events since its inception, bringing people of different ages and nationalities together to experience the allure and character of Brazilian culture. The company produces several shows each year, including two annual events:  the Brazilian Summer Festival at the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre and L.A.’s Brazilian Carnaval in February. The Summer Festival is a co-presentation with the Los Angeles County Arts Commission and is part of the Ford Theatre’s Summer Season, while the Carnaval celebration is self-presented.

Keep an eye out for their next event and experience an authentic taste of exotic Brazil.
