Join us on Saturday, September 9 as SingularCity member and personal fitness expert Malin Svensson kicks-off her dream program “Adopt A Walk,” a health advocacy organization passionate about creating and promoting walk-friendly communities to improve the health of the people in the community in a fun and easy way.
Supporting the launch of the Adopt A Walk program, Santa Monica Mayor Ted Winterer will join Malin for the 2-mile walk that starts at Reed Park at the corner of California Avenue and Lincoln Boulevard and circles back to the park. The walk will start at 10 a.m.
Dogs are welcome and all walkers who bring a dog and finish the walk will receive a canine goodie-bag from Animal Kingdom.
Adopt A Walk will be held in conjunction with the Buy Local Health & Fitness Festival, a free community event co-produced with the city of Santa Monica, that will feature music, pop-up shops and interactive classes and lots of opportunities to get to know the city. Local businesses will provide expertise, advice, health screenings, and free product samples that promote a healthy and happy lifestyle.
You can find Malin after the walk at the festival’s GoSaMo, Breeze Bike Share, Mobility Division booths where she’ll have some special gifts for participants who finish the walk.
Please RSVP for the walk by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
